Lots of little things for a big weekend

Lots of little things have happened to us during this big weekend. Sugar got a new blanket and Kath and I made some pillows for my couches. I love them, I am so proud of myself.

If you ask Raul what was his highlight of the weekend, he would say, "When I hit the shed with a rock on the mountains up by the Hollywood sign." Our good buddy John tried to hit the shed as well...not as lucky but just look at that form. Almost John! It was a pretty funny sight to see...Raul and John even had some spectators. Raul claims to fame is to throw a ball really far. It was pretty far....oh those country farm boys from Idaho sure know how to have a good time.

Later that evening we went to the Dodger game. We had great seats and even though the Dodgers lost, we sitll had a blast. We got ripped off by buying a $25 picture of us filled up on popcorn...its pretty much all about the memories. So here is on: How about right when we got to John's house, which is in LA, Raul realized that I forgot the tickets....oops! Luckly we drove around for an hour trying to find a kinkos so I could print off some more. Oh it was kind of embarrassing because I claim to pretty much have it all together. But Kath found the whole day very ammusing and of course now we have some funny stories to tell. About an hour before the game we met up with my friend Kelly and her boyfriend Kevin. We had a pretty fun night.

Miss the Locks and lots of RAIN

Sometimes I miss my long hair and I just thought that I would put a cute picture of me up. I took it so Raul could put it on his desk top at his work or on his blackberry. Still waiting. Raul also wanted me to let ya'll know that he Rules! He'll rule after he puts a picture of me up.

So last night Kath and I decided to go to watch Long Beach play Fullerton in the conference championship series and it started to rain. Once our knees got soaked we decided that it was best to move up a few rows out of the rain. The furthest that we got was right under the awning where even more rain was falling. They ended up postponing due to rain....put all the tarps out on the field and proceeded to announce that there was a 30 min rain delay. We decided to pack up camp and walk back to the car (in the rain). Along our adventure we came across several little street rivers where Kath decided to bomb right in. Never a dull moment with Audra and Kath. We had a lot of laughs....

Anyway, we have a really exciting day planned. We are going to the Dodger game...LA site seeing and lots more. Totally excited.

Big Weekend for the Beach

"Not too bad for a day at the Beach" is what one of Raul's co-workers said the night that they brought home the Big West Championship trophy. The sprints alone scored 90 points. That is crazy. I was fortunate enough to go out for the first day of the championships. I got to see Raul's athletes qualify for finals...some even hit the regional mark. It was a really exciting weekend for Raul and the Beachers. Now comes the good part, Regionals. In two weeks the group from Long Beach will go back up to Cal State Northridge and compete against the entire western region....basically all of the Pac 10, Big West, Wac, and most of the Big Sky. Good Luck CSULB!

The Adult Recognition was a big success. I had pretty much been working on it day in and day out for the past two months. Everyone really enjoyed the event and loved all the little detail that was put into it. I had great feedback from volunteers as well as my boss and the rest of the staff. This event could not have been done without the help of all of my lovely Girl Scout Co-workers. Thank you ladies....you are the best. I guess now I could even plan my own wedding...not that I am planning on getting married anytime soon just that I could totally pull of a great party! This weekend should be so much fun....my old roommate from college is coming out to visit me...Kathay. I am so excited, I have almost our entire weekend planned out. We are going to go to the Dodgers game and see LA and tour Long Beach and lots lots more.....Can't wait until you get here Kath.

Mother's Day Weekend

What a weekend.....our Saturday was full of my track team doing well at CIF prelims. The season has finally come to an end for me. I am happy and sad at the same time. I will miss those little crazy girls.

Sunday we decided to go to Temecula (wine country) with our friends Patrick and Katie. We had Mexican food and did some wine tasting. My favorite place is Bella Vista...we are wine club members. We were like VIP's with our upgraded glasses and our discounts...haha. We had such a great time. Right before we left the owner asked me if I was a "Mother." I told him..."I have a dog." So then he gave me a flower. So it kind of got a gift on Mother's day.

We have recently became netflixers....it is awesome. We watched Indiana Jones last night to get us ready for the new one coming out this summer. We kept humming the Indiana Jones theme song yesterday to get us in the mood. How can you not love Harrison Ford and his whip. What a guy! By the way I saw him a couple summer's ago in Jackson Hole when we went white water rafting...he was with Calista and his daughters.

To top off our Mother's day weekend...there was a skunk in our little neighborhood. We thought that it was Sugar and maybe her belly hurt or something but then we heard noises outside. I guess the neighbor was trying to scare it away. Anyway...a lot of activity last night. I wonder what Indy would have done. It was a really fun weekend and I am bummbed to be back at work already. Oh and I would also like to welcome Neeka (Raul's sister, Hendrix's momma) to the blog world!

My Job

What can I say, I have a very interesting job. As you know I work for the Girl Scout Council of Greater Long Beach and I was recently promoted to a different job within the council....I now work in the program department. I love it. It is so great to work with the girls and put on events....here is a picture of me at our Annual Mtg....setting up. The next big thing that we have coming up is our Adult Recognition. It is basically a banquet and awards ceremony that we put on for outstanding volunteers. As a team, we have been working really hard on making this night spectacular...it is next Thursday....I am really excited for it, I have kind of taken it upon myself to make it my baby. The theme is "Sailing Away into New Adventures." Cute huh?

Catching Up

Like everyone else I have been swamped with this glorious thing we call life. I believe that it is important to take time and really reflect on the good things in your life. This life that we are given is so short and people are lost everyday. I feel like I go through these stages a lot but I feel that it is a good thing. So take time for the people who are most important because you never know. So let me catch you up on the wonderful world of audra.

Track season is slowly coming to an end for me. I had 6 girls make it to the next round of track finals (CIF prelims). I am so happy and excited for them. As for Raul, his season is getting ready to get really exciting. He has his conference championships, then regionals, then nationals. It is a neat time for him right now. I am so proud of him and what he has done with his team. Speaking of that a few weekends ago he went to the Drake Relays....it is pretty much one of the biggest meets out there. Well his team took first in the sprint relay....FIRST! GO BEACH.

Jenn posted a comment about cutting her daughter's hair...I decided to do it as well. Thanks Jenn for being brave. I cut off six inches last night. It was a really big deal and I was really scared. But I needed a change. I have had that style for 6 years....I cut off an inch for each year I have had that style. Well anyway, I am really happy with it and it feels so healthy.

Things are good in the Los Alamitos house. Wilson and Sugar have been doing really well...meaning they have not made a mess lately and Wilsie has not been in the garbage. They are one of the biggest joys in our lives. I can not imagine coming home and not seeing their cute faces. Over in Idaho, Hendrix (Raul's nephew) is getting big and we get really excited when we think about seeing him.
